We would like to introduce to you a new color that will be the successor to the iconic Bacchus model, which is the brand's iconic model.
First, let's look at how it was created
Baccchus had a black gradation called col.05.
The color gradually changes from matte black to glossy black, creating a unique, chic atmosphere that has been well-received.
However, this required extremely advanced techniques and was difficult even for experienced craftsmen, so unfortunately this color was discontinued last year.
The Taylor team then began searching for a successor color to the black gradient.
Sometimes the idea arose that a collection can be beautiful even if it is missing one color, and we considered adopting the hammered color that was announced this season, but we did not reach a final decision.
However, it suddenly came...
One day, our designer, Mr. Wakita, said something like this:
Waki: "Did they have a distressed black one?"
Me: "No."
Everything was decided in this one exchange, in this moment.
"Let's make it distressed black...!!"
I still remember the grin on Mr. Wakita's face at that time.
◎Points to note
As the brand is launching its first distressed black collection, we had to avoid any mundane colours.
The focus is on the texture .
I am strongly attracted to its simply cool, sophisticated, and extraordinary appearance.
Although it is not a matte finish, it is by no means shiny, and has a deep black that looks like it has been nicely weathered .
Another great thing is that the armor parts are made with damaged titanium , a world first technique announced this season.
The decision to discontinue the black gradient color was a huge one for the brand.
However, this new distressed black color was also born from the sense of distressed that Taylor has been pursuing since its early days.
I'm not sure if it's correct to call it a successor color, but it will be added to the lineup as a "Taylor-like black."
I would be extremely happy if we could work together with you to make this a permanent fixture over time.

"Taylor has pursued unique surface treatments as a means of expressing beauty, one of the three elements of tailoring . We applied surface treatments to black, which is considered basic in the eyewear industry, to reflect the brand's worldview, but due to the high technical difficulty, the color was ultimately abandoned. Therefore, we sought out a unique black as a way to newly express the brand's worldview , and by incorporating distressed processing into black, we succeeded in finding a new aesthetic expression."
