These all-metal Wellington glasses feature an original bridge that is fixed with screws, commonly known in the industry as a single-frame.
The shallow lens shape gives a sharp impression.
The name comes from the fact that it incorporates features of union and walpole, and thus combines two things.
This is a combined version of union and walpole.
Both models have screwed bridges, and this merge also has the same mechanism.
Did you know that this titanium bridge is an original Taylor design?
The pipes that screw the bridge and front rim together are machined without any soldering , and since there are no contact points, you can tighten them up with a screwdriver without any problems to prevent them from coming loose.
It has the same mechanism as the T-shaped armor, and is an important part that reflects the brand's philosophy of paying attention to even the invisible parts.
This is a good opportunity, so I must tell you one thing.
The new Merge is an all-metal model that incorporates elements of Taylor's shallower Union model.
It may be an exaggeration to call it the story behind the product's creation, but in fact union has no plans for future production and will temporarily suspend production with the current stock available.
As the brand team was examining the contents of the collection, it was decided to discontinue union, and merge was born as a model that retains its lineage and can approach the modern era .
There are two major differences between this and a union.
The front rim has been changed from plastic to metal, and the lens size has been increased by 1mm.
Recent demand for larger guitars and the brand's signature all-metal design match beautifully with the shallow shape, making this the sharpest model in Taylor's history .
A word from designer Waki-san...
Taylor's collection has many deep bridges, but there were no shallow all-metal ones, so we added them. We adopted an original bridge and designed it to have a strong metal feel. Like Walpole, we used a gradient to give the color a wider range.
