It combines celluloid, the oldest natural synthetic resin material in history, with titanium, a metal that has been used in eyeglasses since the 1980s. Both materials are strong, with celluloid retaining its shape better than acetate, and the original titanium parts used for the bridge and end pieces are made integral with the screw-fastening pipes, making them extremely durable. The Boston-shaped frame gives a softer impression than metal frames.
